Saratoga sits in the foothills where Silicon Valley starts to climb, and it trades the flatland for something more dramatic, hillside wineries with the whole valley below, celebrated formal gardens, landmark arts estates with villas and lawns.
It's also a community with deep Asian-American roots, which makes it one of our favorite places to plan, fusion weddings and tea ceremonies land beautifully in these garden settings, and Karina runs the traditions fluently in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Few towns this small offer this many genuinely special settings. The trade-off is that the best of them book early and each comes with its own quirks, which is where knowing the area firsthand pays off.
